Kathleen

I'm an experienced elementary educator with several years of teaching experience from Kindergarten through Grade 5. I currently teach Grade 4 fulltime and am passionate about helping children build confidence, develop skills, and discover the joy of learning.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Canadian History from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ottawa. Throughout my career, I have also completed a variety of professional development courses focused on supporting neurodiverse learners and creating inclusive learning environments.

I provide support in reading, writing, math, and social-emotional learning. My approach is centered on building positive connections with students and creating engaging, fun learning experiences that meet each child where they are. I believe every student can succeed when they feel supported, understood, and empowered.

I love connecting with kids and helping them discover their strengths as learners. By creating a supportive and engaging environment, I aim to help students build confidence, develop new skills, and enjoy the learning process.

Outside of the classroom, I am an avid reader, sing in the Village Choir, and love spending time outdoors. I am also a mom of two teenagers and one energetic labradoodle. Our family recently relocated to Victoria after spending 20 years in Whitehorse, Yukon, and we are loving life by the ocean.

During the summer, I have flexible availability to help students maintain their skills and confidence. Once school resumes in September, I continue tutoring after school hours to support students throughout the year.

I specialize in the following subjects:

  • Kindergarten - Grade 5 Reading and Writing Support

  • Kindergarten - Grade 5 Math

  • Kindergarten - Grade 5 Social-Emotional Learning
